The "Rocamadour" trek
From Rocamadour to Saint Cirq Lapopie via Marcilhac sur Célé and Caniac du Causse, the department of the Lot will open its doors to you, revealing its history and scenery. You will go right into the heart of the Causses du Quercy Regional park, exploring its the natural riches, its culture and heritage.
The ride passes through a variety of landscapes: the "causses" (the limestone uplands), the rocky cliffs, the green valleys of the Lot and Célé rivers, and the legendary villages of the Quercy. You will develop a strong emotional bond with your horses as you learn to trust and respond to each other. The warmth and friendliness of our overnight hosts will make you feel welcome with meals combining local produce and Lotoise cuisine to excite your taste buds.
This is a trip of rich experiences and novelty. It will surely convince you that horse trekking is your great passion!
Age of riders: All ages.
The trek suits any rider.
Length of the trek: 6 days: 5 nights with 6 days on horseback.
Ability level of riders: Must be confident in walk, trot and canter.
The trek is open to all riders who ride regularly
It is also possible tto bring your own horse
Maximum size of group : 8
The trek is planned for 2 or more with a maximum of 10 riders.
The route taken follows marked tracks (GR or Grandre Randonnée paths and/or bridleways). It also possible t0 ride independently.

The horses : The trekking horses are Barb, Arab and Arab X and are confident, tough and comfortable. Some were born at Pech Merle, all have been raised there and are trained for trekking. they guarantee you safety and comfort.

Pascal, whose grandfather discovered the "Grottes de Pech Merle", leads the ride on bridleways, sharing his home region with you. A recognised equestrian tourism leader, he has a B.P.J.E.P.S. Tourisme Equestre diploma.
You will need to bring :
- Riding clothes
- Strong shoes (ex: walking boots). Avoid wearing new shoes
- A lightweight waterproof
- A change of clothes, toileteries
- A torch
